WorldPay Integration Methods – Which is right for me?
WorldPay provides a wide range of solutions to suit every kind of requirement.
Click and Build: store builder with integrated payment processing
WorldPay’s own easy-to-use store builder, comes ready integrated with the WorldPay payment system. Click and Build requires no specialist technical knowledge and yet can be used to build sophisticated stores with thousands of products.
Shopping Cart Plug-ins
WorldPay has developed “plug-ins” or “cartridges” for many of the top shopping cart systems to simplify the integration process. Many of these plug-ins are available to download from this Support Knowledgebase or can be requested from your local Technical Support departments. To see which carts are supported, visit our Shopping Carts page. Even if your cart is not listed, it may be worth contacting Technical Support to see if they are developing a solution or if they have experience in assisting people to integrate using your choice of cart.
Select Junior: HTML
Select Junior uses HTML forms to send information about each purchase to WorldPay. To integrate with this option you will need to have knowledge of HTML, including forms. If you wish to receive information back from WorldPay during the transaction, you will also find it useful to have an understanding of server-side capture scripts.
Select Pro: Java
Select Pro uses Java Servlets to encrypt and submit purchase information. To use this method you will require expertise in Java and a server that supports a Java servlet engine such as JServ or Jrun.
Select COM: ASP/Microsoft IIS
Select COM is based on the Select Pro integration method but uses Microsoft IIS to handle all Java classes via COM objects. For this reason, there is no need to install a separate servlet engine such as JServ or JRun. The Select COM object is instead embedded inside an Active Server Page using Visual Basic (scripting edition), or JScript server-side scripting.
Select Checkout is a HTML integration method that has largely been superseded by Select Junior. It is no longer issued to customers unless their particular choice of cart makes it essential.
